Well, yes, but they do genuinely really help uphill

I'm not sure about the advice to take short strides when power walking? Feels rather like something held over from trying to keep a running gait up. I've a feeling my stride stays a similar length - I'm definitely a fast uphill walker.

I guess sheer practice was too obvious for the article to mention it!
