Hello

I have booked a trip to Iceland in late January and as part of this trip I will be doing some hiking in snowy conditions, dog sledding and visiting an ice cave which requires a hike on a glacier.

I am the first to admit I am a summer climber so I have booked my trips with guides but I want to make sure I have the right clothng with me to make sure its enjoyable and not a hypothermic nightmare.

I currently have;

Winter boots rated to -20 celsius,

A  few merino wool base layers,

Jack wolfskin waterproof trousers,

Burton snowboardin gloves with Raab liners,

An assortment of hats and buffs.

I have a few options for my jacket but I am also considering buying a new jacket if necessary. Currently I have a Montain Extreme Smock and a Jack Wolfskin waterproof (non insulated) which I was thinking could work layered.

Or I have a Jack Wolfskn down waterprood jacket but I think its lost its waterproofng even after beng washed with some Nikwax reproofer.

I am expecting minimum temperatures to be -10 celsius so would welcome advice on layering to make sure I can enjoy the trip whilst staying warm and dry.

Thank you

Ben
