Hi

I have a stove in my new camper but no gas bottle, and I need to know what gas bottle to get.  Contacting the person I bought the van from isn't an option (can't be bothered explaining why!).

The attachment in the van states that any gas bottle must have a non-return valve.

Is a Campingaz R904 bottle appropriate?  I can see that it has a 'safety valve', but I don't know if this is the same as a 'non-return valve'.  I've looked up 'non-return valves' and can see that they can be applied separately, but if the R904 has one already then that would work better.

Any help would be appreciated.

A Campingaz 904 or 907 is fine but it really depends what type of regulator is currently fitted on the end of the hose, you need to check this first.

Haven't 904s been phased out? May have a problem swapping for a full one.

Not sure, 907 it is then in that case.

It’s the 901 that has been phased out. 

Apparently you're correct, however there was a scheme about 15 years ago that swapped your 904 for a 907 at negligible cost on the grounds that the 904 was being phased out. I took advantage of the scheme and haven't regretted it.
