I'm looking for advice as to which guidebook for multipitch rock in the Soreller Valley and Ecrins generally - the guides I've got are for mountaineering and haven't got much rock in them...

In reply to duchessofmalfi:

Oisans neuveau, oisans sauvage E and W. Or you can get little La Berarde and Ailefroide volumes that are extracts from those (available in English) and pocket sized.

Jean-Michel Cambon is the author.

Hmu if you can't find the La Berarde one available to buy, I have a second hand French language copy I could be persuaded to part with.

In reply to Roberttaylor:

Thanks - the west one is the one I need but sadly it seems to be out of print! If anyone knows where it can be got (2018 or newer versions) please let me know!

In reply to duchessofmalfi:

Cambon passed away a few years ago and the copy right for his guides was brought by a publishing company near Grenoble (I think) they have done a new version of the Est and they can be brought Briancon side of the Écrins in most of the shops. I am not sure if there is a new version planned for the Oust but you can still buy it locally and at

I don't think they post to the UK but I think there is one in Grenoble you could maybe pop by if you are driving down?

In reply to ecrinscollective:

Thanks for the information! unfortunately it says sold out at auvieuxcampeur-fr... Produit indesponible

"TOPOGUIDE EXHAUSTED. REPRINT DATE UNKNOWN."

I can only find really old editions at inflated prices
