Hi I’m looking for a sleeping bag for EBC in March

both the RAB ascent 1100 & alpkit alpine dream 1000 have similar prices on sale and temperature rating

alpkit has 750 down rab 650

alpkit packs down smaller

rab sleep limit -25

alpkit comfort limit -18

amyone have either, what would you go for and why?

I have a Rab Ascent 1100 and It’s excellent. Only ever woken up too hot in it. Looking forward to testing it thoroughly on a ski trip this winter. 

If you price match it at Go outdoors it’s about £245.

Can't comment on the Alpkit.

The ascent 1100 is warm but it is one hell of a big lump to carry. My gf has one and it irritates me every time we camp in winter how she pretty much fills her pack with it.

Good job I carry most the kit anyway.

If you think the Alpkit will do the job for EBC then I would favour it.

Something less bulky will be more useful for other things you might want to use it for.

In reply to AJK87: thanks for responding, I am leaning towards the alpkit for that reason, I think I will get more us out of it and it looks from the description that it does pack down smaller, I do have the alpkit quilt I can take also to layer up with my sleeping bag
