Just in from FaceAche, JD lead forked lightning at Heptonstall, a route that would have most fully sighted climbers rummaging through the excuses bag.

Well done himself!

E3 surely, although I must admit, everything at Heptonstall has always felt a grade harder to me.

Never done it myself, but was always put off by the quote from the witness of Whillans' first ascent:

"It must be 'ard - it took 'im 2 fags!"
