Just looking to rejoin the AAC for the reciprocal rights and rescue cover, and noticed the rescue cover seemed lower than I remembered (€25k). Has the cover been reduced in the few years? I thought it used to be a couple of hundred grand (or am I making stuff up). 

I think it's been €25k as far as I remember, even before their change of insurance company few years ago. I think they actually increased the limits (slightly) compared to ten years ago.

Perhaps you were thinking of the Premium single trip additional cover? This includes something like €500k medical transport and treatment, although the SAR cover is the same I think.

By way of confirmation I'd say Frank R is correct in every detail.
