Hello UKC Community, I'm organising a Gold Duke of Edinburgh exped to the lake Garda area in October this year and wondered if anyone had recommendations for suitable trekking routes, campsites and places of interest in the monte baldo area? Even suitable day walks that can be linked up would be helpful?

The group is planning on starting from Riva del Garda in the north and aiming to walk and camp in the NE and East side of lake. Start point is flexible and could include a decent refugio as acclimatisation day.

Thanks in advance!

In reply to Woodrow:

We did the hike up to Monte Cadria just NW of the lake about 3 years back. It's the highest summit up that way and has all the WW1 tunnels on the way up. When we went up from I think the south, there had been a landslip so much of the higher part of the track was destroyed. It was a nice summit and at 2254m we could do it in the day.
