The next round of area meetings will feature presentations by members of the Organisational Review Group on a range of recommendations that will impact your BMC. This will be an important opportunity to discuss the group’s findings and provide feedback to help shape the group’s final recommendations, which will eventually go to a vote at the BMC AGM in April 2018.

Members are encouraged to attend their relevant area meeting to contribute to the debate:

In reply to Team BMC:

A small correction: the Peak area meeting will be starting EARLY - probably 6.30pm - and food will be available BEFORE the meeting rather than during it.

In reply to Team BMC:

The Peak area newsletter mentions the possibility of a new bridleway across Nell Croft

Where's that I wondered, so Googled "Nell Croft"

None of the images returned appear to be peak district related !!

In reply to Chris the Tall:

Try Googling "Nell Croft Peak District." It's on/next to the Longshaw Estate.

I will do, just as soon as I've checked through all those other images....

Road works will affect access for anyone travelling from Sheffield (via the Fox House) to the Peak Area Meeting on Wednesday 22 November.

The B6521 north (uphill) of the Maynard is currently closed for road works.

Anyone approaching from Sheffield (via the Fox House) will need to allow an extra 10-15 minutes for their journey, and loop round to the west via Hathersage.

From Hathersage take the B6001 (Station Road) to Grindleford. At Grindleford, turn left on to the B6521 through the village, over the river and up the hill to the Maynard.

We’ve just been advised by the venue hosting tonight’s North East Area Meeting in Durham that its boiler has broken down, so the meeting room will be rather cold, and they won’t be able to serve any hot food; hot drinks will be available.

If you are planning to attend the meeting, make sure you’re well wrapped up.

The driving conditions in Durham are also quite tricky, with some snow on the ground, so drive carefully.

Details of the meeting are on the BMC Local Areas site: http://community.thebmc.co.uk/Event.aspx?id=3908
