Am planning a first trip to Berry Head this week to try the Magical Mystery Tour DWS. Only problem is that I lost my guidebook on Dartmoor last weekend and haven't yet secured a replacement. I was wondering, is the route/ approach/ exit pretty self explanatory and will I manage guidebook-less?

Open googlemaps. From the NE end of the Berry head carpark head out E to the viewing point (semi-circular wall feature). Head down the cwm east of this until you get to the bottom of it (looks like you cross a fence near the top). Turn right (facing out to sea) and downclimb into the great cave which is directly below the redoubt wall which is SE of the carpark.
Head towards sea from car park, over cattle grid and find little semi circular wall (and bench?), steep path leads down behind that through gate in fence, and down to gearing up ledges, as shown on the right of this photo:
Which is the hardest part of the downclimb, looks a bit unlikely from above but big holds once you move down.
Head through the back of the Great Cave and keep going.......best at mid to high tide to avoid nasty slabs and barnacle crunching.
You'll eventually get to the Green Grotto which you might have to swim (at high tide), then a bit further on the Blue Grotto which is the big cave through the headland.
Either swim the channel here and climb up the headland, shown here on the far left:
