Ok I'll infuriate you further by pointing out that an apostrophe indicates possession or missing letter (eg it's - it is), not a plural. So Munros not Munro's.

You're so'o right. But there again, some individuals get very emotional about Munro's..

There are a whole host of words often given the wrong spelling here on UKC.
Off the top of my head apart from Monroe and Munro's, we have munro, gulley, Dinas Gromlech, Tremadoc, Snowden, Cemetery Gates. I could go on, but I think you know what I mean. And of course it's even worse in the press!
