Which is the better climbing axe? BD Viper or Petzl Aztar?

Viper is more climbing orientated than the Aztar, especially if you fancy going leashless

Seconded - though there's no reason you couldn't use Aztars for a lot of routes, especially if you 'customise' a bit:
