Giggleswick North

Climbing at Ivy Buttress at Giggleswick North today and had a fairly close encounter with a Peregrine Falcon.

Hovered above me and was making distress calls as I was finishing up a climb. Tried to look around and didn't see any nests nearby, but it might be worth being aware of birds in the area when climbing on this part of the crag.

In reply to Miss_Dani: Unusual for Gigg. Definitely a peregrine and not a kestrel?

In reply to mark catcher:

100% Peregrine. Double checked whilst there  Markings, size and call the same. Though as I say, I didn't see a nest.

In reply to Miss_Dani:

Peregrines don’t build nests, they use scrapes which can easily be overlooked (though should be fairly obvious if there’s an egg, still early yet though so might just be the site of one to come).
