Fans from each of Pete Livesey's practiced sports give tribute after Pete died.

What is generally not realised about Livesey was that he came to climbing after already  being an elite performer in running and caving. This meant that he had to train hard and  grab routes as quickly as possible,as,in climbing terms,he was  getting on a bit.He died in 1998,not 1958 as the vid has it.

In reply to paul mitchell: Thoroughly recommend John Sheard & Mark Radke's collection of essays on Pete: Pete Livesey: Fast & Free. You forgot to mention his ability as a writer. 'Travels with a Donkey' is a classic climbing tale - included in the collection.

In reply to paul mitchell:

He was involved with a lot of the exploration work in Mossdale Caverns with Mike Boon which is documented in the book Down to a Sunless Sea.

Sid Perou:

"This film looks at the much admired, pioneering, but often controversial climbing of Pete Livesey. Was he guilty of chipping holds or "overcleaning"?"
