If you had been paying attention , Durran, you would have noticed a discussion on gas cartridges on here last week
Conclusion was that most screw types are compatable, even if you have to get a tall skinny blowtorch cartridge.
The fallback and often cheaper is to buy a local stove to fit the locals cartridges.
Any hardware shop should do.
Most south Europe countries seem more obsessed with hardware stores than foodstores so you should be OK.
