Does anyone local know if Wildcat Crags are currently worth a visit this weekend after all the rain recently?  My old guidebook says the first few metres can be slimy.

It was fine last Sunday. It rained in the morning and by the afternoon the bottom of most routes had dried.

We were there week before last. Literally started bucketing it down as we geared up. Started climbing as soon as it stopped raining. 2nd pitches were dry a bone when we got to them.

First pitches are a bit overgrown in places but thats half the adventure of the place!

Better than some of the Limestone in the peak and we've found it fairly reasonable to dry even though the base of the crag is in the trees. Great venue. Depending on where you're coming from, Beeston Tor could be an option if you want good quality limestone with long pitches.
