Me and a friend are off to N Wales this weekend, we were planning to climb at gogarth in or the mountains but wind forecast means considering slate for the earlier part of the weekend at least to try and find some shelter. Any recommendations for good sheltered spots and routes in the quarries? Around HVS-E3/up to 6cish sport. Thinking the lower bits of Australia will probably be okay but don't know the area very well.

Thanks

The Lower Walls would be sheltered however not much that's worthwhile at your grade. A good selection of worthwhile 7a's / 7a+ 's to project though...

Great Bores of Today (7a)

Øyenstikker (7a+)

Fontaineslab (7a)

Dekophobia (7a)

Thanks, might be a bit hard for me but maybe I’m just lazy and it will give some projecting impetus…will let you know if we get on them

Serengeti is fairly sheltered from westerlies, and is a bit of a sun trap, as it Yellow Wall just above it. Railtrack Slab is also sheltered and lots to go at in your grade range.
