Thinking of going to Leonidio last week in February. Local climate websites show quite a bit of rain. What is people's experience?

Thanks in Anticipation

We've been twice in Feb, last week as well. 1st time we had a great dry week although it had rained prrtty much everyday the week before and a fair bit earlier in the month so a lot of the tufas were wet but anything open was dry. 2nd time it was 2c and it snowed and was blowing a gale at the start of the week. But due to the weather coming from the mountains the  aspect of cliffs such as madwall etc escaped all the weather and we were able to climb all week. The freak cold snap and winds cleared and we were back to 14/18c and bathed in sun. All in all we've had 2 great trips and love it there in Feb however if we had been there the week before on our 1st trip I may think differently.

Had a great time a couple of years ago late Jan - warm and sunny by the coast, cool/chilly in the shade high up. Going again first week this feb, hoping for the same.

We were there last year from 11 Feb until mid March, and climbed pretty much every day. That's despite a 4 day cold spell that brought snow and rain. There's so much variety in crag orientation and steepness that it's almost always possible to find dry rock, and with the giant wall of Kokkinovrachos providing shelter and a huge solar reflector you're just as likely to be too hot as too cold in February.

Check out the following link for day-by-day posts to get a feel for the weather and climbing options from the same time last year, as well as photos and beta from around 30 sectors - should help whet the appetite!

Is Iain getting soft and worrying about cold fingers?
