Jet2 Delayed Flight Compensation

If you were one of the climbers on the delayed Newcastle to Kos flight on 11 October and haven't already done so you can claim compensation as the delay was over three hours. The flight is classed as medium haul in the post Brexit passenger rights regulations so the compensation is £350. You can also claim for any other consequential costs such as having to overnight in a hotel on Kos because you had missed the last ferry to Kalymnos, receipts are required.

Unsurprisingly Jet2 didn't alert the passengers to this right and you need to furtle around their website to find the online form. Once found it is simple to complete but you do need to attach a digital copy of your boarding pass. I submitted my application on Sunday and got notification that the claim was successful a couple of days later.

I also done this with aer lingus earlier in the year. Was accepted straight away and paid inside 10 days. Great to have some airlines which play by the rules
