I've found some perfect granite cracks right by a footpath, which would make amazing climbs except that they're very mossy. (This is in Switzerland, don't get too excited.) I've never cleaned a route before, got any tips? What brush should I buy? At one point on one of the cracks there's a larger clump of bracken. What are the ethics on removing this?

Some areas do have nature protection restrictions, big green signs to that effect are used, at least in some places I know. Local community website might even have that info.

Gosh, I wouldn't be worried about removing bracken!

Depends where you are! If you remove bracken or any other vegetation from rock in an area under any kind of protection you will looking at fines in the tens of thousands in Germany.

I assume Switzerland will, as usual, be stricter!
