Worth having a watch of the SOS Extreme Rescues series just launched on BBC. It's showing on BBC1 in Wales and I think BBC2 elsewhere, and is available on iPlayer. It's a land-based equivalent of Saving Lives at Sea, and giving a great insight into the sort of shouts the teams in Eryri (Snowdonia) attend and the nature of Mountain Rescue work in the UK.

Hopefully it'll also raise the profile of MR in the UK, the voluntary nature of the teams and our work, and give some folk a few pointers too so they're less likely to be our next casualty!

You can hope. Unfortunately to some it will look exciting this mountain stuff, great feed for their social media etc... sadly no one will ever make a programme about going out in rain and low cloud to the Moelwyns navigating, or walk /sliding up and down the same bit of snow all day learning winter skills.
