Hi,

Wondering if there's any social climbing groups in and around Sheffield for older climbers (happy climbing with +50yrs), preferably women? A family member has been going to the women's evening at Awesome Walls and would like to climb more, but doesn't have any climbing friends. She's a competent belayer and happy toproping/started doing some lead. Looking for more enjoyable/social climbing rather than crushing grades!

Thought I'd check here as I no longer live in Sheffield.

Might be worth having a look at Castle Mountaineering Club.

There is a big group of old-timers who go to awesome walls in the morning three times a week over the winter. 

try the climbers club. Average age 56 yrs on last measure.

Doesnt sound like she would yet be experienced enough to join the CC

Much appreciated! It's great there's some form of climbing, and especially the social aspect for all ages and abilities.
