Has anyone made an ascent of Mont Chetif, just outside Courmayeur. Although it looks a bit craggy and scrambly I'm just wondering if it's "do-able" for a hill walker.
I've walked up it, in summer, there are paths up & around it if you buy the local 1:25000 map. We encountered Italian picnickers on the summit. Nice day walk! We drove up from Val Veni & parked quite high up - at about 1700m I think.
If you're hillwalking at this time of year, please dont' tell me you use Google earth to navigate with. .... maps are for sale in lots of shops in the valleys.
