Can anyone recommend a route up Galtymore? No scrambling and if possible do you know a good map of the area?

I did it several years ago from the south from the N8 Caher to Michelstown road. I winged it without a map, using the route in Irvine Butterfield's "The High Mountains." It was a clear day but I still ended up on Galtybeg by mistake. Easy walk from there to Galtymore. I don't remember any scrambling at all.

You definitely won’t find any scrambling!

I remember doing with a very poor map, the hardest part was navigating through fields to get to the foot of it.

You should find all the info you need there (but I’m on the Mountainviews committee so I would say that!). Osi sheet 74 is plenty good enough for a map.

Easiest way up is the Black Road from the south... easy and gentle track the majority of the way. Rounds from the north are better though...the Galtees are a bit more dramatic from that side.
