just booked an apartment in St Ives for September, only been to Cornwall once before  on a purely climbing trip and my wife has never been but has always been wanting to go.

we will probably want to get three or four nice walks on the coast path in as part of our stay but have no idea which are the best sections so any advice would be welcome.

Nothing too demanding: half day walks with bus links back to the start ( or vice versa). are particularly welcomed.

Thank you in anticipation

Lots of lovely choices. For example:

From St Ives you can walk out along the coast path, then back through the fields.

Bus to Zennor then back along the coast path.

Drive to St Just. Walk from there to Bosigran, then bus back (go to wherever the bus actually stops). Or walk to Sennen, then bus back.

From St Ives to Mousehole the whole coast path is lovely. You can't go wrong whichever part you choose.

Walk out to St Erth, past Carbis bay, where the G7 was held, then take the train back.

One of our favourites is park at Sennen, catch open top bus to the stop opposite the Treen turning. Walk down through the footpaths to the coast at Logan Rock. Then turn west and follow coast path through Porthcurno Porthgwarra Lands End and then back to Sennen. Three cafes on the route and five fab beaches inc the wonderful Nanjizal.

You can also walk straight out of St Ives on the coast path to Zennor or Gurnards Head. Bus back.

I did the South West Coast Path a few years ago. My favourite section was Cape Cornwall to St Ives. On a sunny day it's deserted and incredible scenary/walking! A bit tough in places though.  As others have said, it can be broken into sections and bussed.

If you're getting off the bus by Treen, may as well walk down the road to Penberth before joining the coastal path there.  Lovely spot.

In reply to Tom Valentine: Drop into Rosemergy Farm for the best of cream teas! Just west of Bosigran Count House, CC hut

All of the stretch from St Ives to Newlyn is nice.
