Just seen that Simmond have updated there 8.1mm dry treated half rope. was wondering if anyone has bought it or have any insight on if it’s worth the money. Looks like a pretty good deal at £200 for a pair of 60m UIAA dry half ropes but I would be worried about their longevity.

Also wondering how they would compare to the old simmond model whcih are currently on sale for £160 for a set of dry treated 50s

i don’t know about the new ones, but I have been using the old ones for over 3 years for uk trad and have been very happy with them. I would buy them again.
