Snapped X4 trigger wire

I've got a 0.2 BD x4 and one of the trigger wires has snapped right where it inserts into the cam lobe.

Wondering if anyone has had any luck repairing their cams with a similar sort of issue?  I have emailed BD about this. I haven't really used it that much and it's never been fallen on and it would be pricey to replace!

Cheers!

I had a mate fall on one of mine - not the top piece, but that pulled so the cam held the fall.  It broke the trigger wire.  I emailed BD largely to let them know and they advised returning it to the retailer (Decathlon) for inspection.  They replaced it even though I had no receipt

That's useful to know. Looking closely at it, I don't really think it's something I can fix myself. The spring mechanism seems quite complex.

I successfully replace trigger wires with strimmer cable (melting the end gently to form a blob so it doesn't pull through the cam body). I have also successfully used Ethibond (a heavy polyester suture for tendon repairs). I have one cam with both repairs - waited 2 years (1500 routes) so far to see which fails first.....

You can replace trigger wires quite easily yourself, just need to buy a new one. The link below might have what you need.

Or go to https://www.needlesports.com/Catalogue/Climbing-Equipment/Rock-Trad-Climbin...

and click on "Cam repairs"

It's an easy DIY job if you have the correct part.
