New Alpha Sport draws: how to get stiff?

The new version of these draws are frustratingly floppy.  Before I go crazy with chopsticks and tape, has anyone got any tips for stiffening them up?  Maybe starch them?

Nitrile gloves, a water based* lubricant and a bit of elbow grease.

* You don't want to weaken the slings

I've always found the Alpha Sport dogbone too floppy compared to Petzl Spirits, especially  in the 25cm length. It's their only real fault.
