Just thinking are kids shoes different to adult ones?

you can get small size adult ones well cheap but are they still higher volume than kids ones

or are adult ones less suitable as they are stiffer?

Wilf doesn’t use his toes so much rather stands on the midsole so maybe kids ones are better rather than some more technical adult one???

so yeah are cheaper adult shoes unsuitable is I guess what I’m asking.

thoughts?

In reply to smithaldo:

Adult shoes are usually a more aggressive/technical fit, so are potentially damaging to growing feet. Look for beginner models which tend to be more foot shaped.

Stiff shoes are more of a benefit for heavier climbers and those who big feet. Very small shoes have limited potential to flex (sole thicknes isn't scaled up as the shoe gets larger), so generally for kids a relatively soft shoe is essential if you want to give them any change to smear.
