I have a pair of the original Guide Tennies, and while the soles still work well, I've blown a hole in the soft leather upper. What would be the recommended way of repairing this, I'm thinking of some sort of patch on inside and outside, with an adhesive I'm currently unaware of.
Any suggestions?

Not exactly sure how, but it looks like sewn and glued. Joshua Tree repairs did Lynn's cheaply and Chesterfield Feet First did mine (and resoled them). I wish some manufacturers would make some soft topped approach shoes as it doesn't bother my bunions. In earlier years Berghaus made some as well.

The adhesive you are looking for is Shoe Goo. I was a skater many moons ago and was always wearing holes in my shoes. Patch inside and out with a good dose of Shoe Goo as the filling in the sandwich. If it's a small hole then just a patch inside and loads of adhesive will probably do it.
