Does anyone have any recommendations for insurance companies that cover NZ and alpine climbing/mountaineering? I am going for one month (October) and have looked at the BMC but wondering if there are any other companies to look at. I am UK based and it is a single trip. 

I imagine Snowcard would.

Also look into what you actually need coverage for in NZ. It’s pretty generous even as a tourist - police coordinate search and rescue and ACC covers tourists who end up hospitalised through misadventure - or that’s my understanding. Double check.

Yep, ACC is a fantastic scheme which I never fully realised until I left NZ as a wide eyed 21 year old.

However you may also want to get some cover from e.g. Global Rescue who cover repatriation to your home country. Or just some general travel insurance that might cover this.
