This is a public service announcement for anyone who missed it..

There's a new episode of Worzel Gummidge out and it's delightful.

If any fans of Detectorists have missed it entirely, do yourselves a favour and have a look starting with the first one.  It's daft, slightly soppy, enormously charming and cheery-uppy.
(And it's clearly set in the same 'cinematic universe' as Detectorists.)

Nice one. I enjoyed the last few episodes and I have very fond and warm and fuzzy memories of the original series.

Thanks!

I greatly enjoyed watching the first series with my niece and nephew. Enormously charming. They really enjoyed it too.

I'm afraid not, but there is a hedgehog.
(Just - blink and you'll miss it.)

Argh. I hate when I don't get a reference....

It took me a while.

There's a 'gazebo raising' scene in Detectorists.  (A parody of the Amish 'barn raising' in 'Witness'.)

(11 minutes in.)

Here's the original: youtube.com/watch?v=BL_X7GelX5Q&

Edit to add:
It just dawned on me there's a little joke in the original too.
"I hear you're a carpenter."
"It's been a while."

Harrison Ford was a carpenter.  (And it had been a while.)

Oh that was lovely - thank you! Really enjoyed Worzel, saw the hedgehog, and lovely music too. Finished off my Sunday very nicely.

In reply to deepsoup:

I'm sorry but that is pure nightmare fuel.

What's happened to his face ?

;-D

He's got a mangelwurzel for a head, and is actually quite handsome by scarecrow standards.

I'd say he's definitely more Alpha vulgaris than  Beta vulgaris personally.
