I give you Dave Goulder's song about the triple buttresses in Coire Mhic Fhearchair, " Three Old Men"

There were 3 old men sitting round the fire on a dark December day,

when the wind blew cold through the open door, so the first old man did say;

"Father dear I' m chilled I fear ,and my bed shall be the floor

then your only son will be dead and gone, so won' t you close the door."

The second Old man he raised his head and he looked with his one good eye.

"A fine young man of 3 score years should not be afeared to die,

but when a man grows old he feels the cold, that plays around the room,

so I' ll not  care to leave this chair until the first of June"

So they both appealed to the third old man to close the door outside,

but a week had passed since that third old man had closed his eyes and died

So there they sit to the present-day the frost all in their hair,

three stone men in the silent glen and nobody left to care

I was up in the coire yesterday and the song always comes to mind with winter coming on.
