LDSM is a two week festival of music (largely classical) which starts on July 28 with the profoundly deaf percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie with the New London Chamber Ensemble performing at the Coro in Ulverston. For me some of the other highlights are a two concert showing for the complete cello sonatas of Beethoven; a concert by the outstanding young ensemble the Mithras Trio playing music by Mahler, Korngold and Brahms; an outing for a new young group the Paddington Trio playing among other things Beethoven Ghost Trio; and the Chiaroscuro quartest playing Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert. Lots of other good stuff.
