Castleberg crag will be closed for climbing for a short period from Thursday 21st April. The council are erecting some large lettering onto the crag which will remain in place until after the conclusion of the Tour de Yorkshire.

The date for removal is not yet known but I will provide an update when I have further information!

Cheers for the heads up, normally stick to Giggleswick and Robin Proctors for sport climbing in that immediate area anyway, but still good to know!

In reply to RHINOS:

it may be that the lettering is now holding the crag together and they can't risk removing it?

In reply to chris_j_s:

The letters have now been removed from the crag so access is back to normal.

RHINOS, since the work to erect and remove these letters was all carried out voluntarily by climbers I'm afraid it had to fit in dependent on our availability. Whilst a team of us were available to put the letters up, I took the letters down by myself on Saturday as it was the first opportunity I had to do it after the race!
