Hi I was at Blackwell Halt today and it looks like we have two of the local raptors making a nest on the rock face, they flew away when we arrived we left quite soon so did not have time to see if they returned, so will be monitoring the site from Thur till Sat this weekend and would ask people to stay away & I will update. This is very exciting and adds to the list of animals seen on site (as well as the rare flowers and Rock whitebeam) this list included roe dear Muntjac, foxes, badgers, owls, sparrow hawks & today a male brimstone butterfly all visiting or living on the site and surrounding land..

Thanks

Karl

Fantastic!  That's a decent list for a fairly busy dale.

In reply to Derek Furze:

Blackwell Halt probably has a reasonable aspect for the Brimstones to overwinter there.

I can now say the raptors are not nesting , they have been pissing about in trees and getting beef with magpies but no nesting action
