Hi all, The university of Bristol expeditions society will be setting up a handful of top ropes on the right hand side of the seawall in the Avon gorge on the 30th of sept. We'll happily make space for anyone who would like to use the routes, but we expect the area to be busy from 9 until 5.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Why are you calling it ‘seawall’? Guidebooks (and UKC) have always referred to it has Sea Walls, surely. https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/avon_gorge_sea_walls_area-29/ It just sounds very odd, like calling The Roaches ‘the roach’.

Everyone who has ever climbed in Avon and 99% of people with a guidebook that are considering it soon will know exactly where they mean.

Hi folks, nice to meet you yesterday and share the crag. Did any of your group pick up a nylon sling and 3 steel screwgates by any chance? They were hanging on the wing mirror of my van but might have dropped off in the car park.

Thanks

Andy
