Hi

I've just discovered the Sellaronda mtb tour in the Dolomites and wondered whether anyone knew of similar loops with lift connections in other areas of the Swiss/ Italian Alps? Preferably in Brenta Dolomites and southern Switzerland?

Ciao!

The Pass'Portes du Soleil is a fantastic (big) lift assisted day out. It’s in France but not far from the Swiss and Italian borders.

Thanks. That seems to be more of a one off event rather than something we can turn up and ride at any time though.

Does look good though - a bit like the raides des ecrins.

You can do a big loop around the Portes du Soleil outside of the event, the lifts are all open under the same lift pass.

Les Gets->Morzine->Avoriaz->Les Croset->Morgins->Chatel->....bus back to Avoriaz sector->Morzine->Les Gets.

It's a big-old day out. The only 'boring' bit is the long fire road down from Les Crosets to Morgins.

Also more generally, the Swiss are very good with bikes on public transport (buses as well as trains) which can be very handy not just for facilitating point-to-point rides but also just uplift to high villages or road passes with fun off-road ways back down. (Do trailforks have coverage over there? Look out for the swiss singletrail maps which are the printed equivalent.)
