Just dreamtime planning, obviously we can’t go travelling at the moment. Just dreaming about what to do afterwards, whether later this year or next year. I live in the Ochils, I’ve worked out a route from home via Callander, Killin, Kenmore and Loch Rannoch to the Loch Ossian Youth Hostel (not actually planning on staying there). This uses quite back lanes and gravel tracks mostly. I’ve been told the track north from the youth hostel to Laggan dam is good and do-able on a touring bike. From there I think I can get to the village of Fersit. The plan is to go from there through to Fort William where I can pick up the Great Glen way.

Just after some local knowledge, is it possible to go from Fersit to Fort William without going on the main A86? Is there a way through the forest via the ski centre that is ride-able on a tourer?

In reply to OwenM:

You'd need to do a wee bit on the A86 but after that there are minor roads and good tracks you can link up then cycle path from Torlundy. All doable on a tourer.
