Late starter to climbing, a real newbie. Always been an outdoors person, and have done lots of hiking.
I was up in Aviemore in November 2006 to go hiking for three days, the weather closed in (after I had walked up Cairn Gorm) and I decided to try out the local climbing wall....Loved it! And I was hooked.
Started a course of lessons down at Revolution (thanks Sam!) and now I go bouldering two or three times a week.
I'm really keen on trying some outdoor climbing and I'd love to give roped climbing another try...
Oh, and I'm off to the USA this summer to climb in Wyoming and Utah..possibly Nevada too....Woohoo!
Update: Started climbing at Arethusa, roped stuff...bye, bye bouldering!
Further update: Climbed at Cathedral peaks in the Tetons - FABULOUS!! Wanted to do Red Rocks but it was over 100 degrees - must go back when it gets cooler.
Recently spent the day climbing in the Wye Valley - great fun.
And now climb at Arethusa three or sometimes four times a week and if the weather is fine Harrisons or Bowles.
