Marketing Manager: Flashpoint Group Jobs

We are looking for a proactive and passionate leader to drive our Marketing team across our growing company.  You will be responsible for all aspects of marketing across the four sites that make up the Flashpoint Group. These currently include Redpoint Bristol, Flashpoint Bristol, Swindon & Swansea and Freedog Bristol & Swindon. We are actively looking for more sites and you would be part of their initial promotion and ongoing marketing. 

You will work closely with the CEO but will be expected to use your experience and passion to lead and guide the marketing direction and strategy. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of line management or leadership of a team in a Marketing setting. It would also be ideal for them to be passionate about climbing and climbing walls in order for them to pass that passion on to our customers in an authentic and inspiring way.

Salary: 30 – 35K Depending on Experience

Work Hours: 40 hours a week (flexi-time)

Holiday Entitlement: 30 days per year

About us 

We are a passionate, dynamic and growing team. The group managers support teams made up of enthusiastic climbers and activity instructors. We opened Redpoint in 2013 and have expanded from there. Although climbing remains our specialist product, we have since added another three major venues and diversified the activities we offer enabling the whole family to take part. Each centre also has a cafe which serves fresh and local food and drink to our whole range of customers, this helps us to compliment the community feel of our centres which is so important to us.

You will be the leader of your own department giving you the opportunity to implement your creative ideas and analyse the success of your projects both large and small.

We run a flexi-hours system that allows you to manage your own working hours and time off. There is also scope for some home or remote working (both flexi-time and home working plans are by consensus with your line manager).

How the role sits within the organisation?

  • You will work with the senior management team, with the CEO as your line manager.
  • You will be directly responsible for a small team (currently one full time and four part time) content creators.
  • You will work closely with external agencies which provide SEO and digital marketing support.

List of Responsibilities

  • Creating and implementing a Marketing Strategy for the group. 
  • Creating and implementing a Marketing Annual Plan to ensure we promote the right products at the right time. 
  • Line management of the Marketing Team including the Content Creator, Content Creator Assistant and Social Media Assistants.
  • Updating and maintaining the websites, including optimising the sites for customer use including SEO and analysing user traffic.
  • Updating google business profile with clear information (such as Opening Times etc).
  • Maintaining a regular presence on our social media channels including Facebook and Instagram (our current channels).
  • Growing engagement of our chosen social media channels.
  • Ensuring that our copywriting is accurate and sets the right tone.
  • Running facebook adverts to promote our services as needed. 
  • Work with external marketing companies to promote services in line with the annual plan and overall strategy. 
  • Organising the production of posters, leaflets and other promotional materials.
  • Organising the production of photos and video as required.
  • Organise the production of engaging social media content.

 

Essential experience

  • Proven history of implementing successful marketing strategies.
  • Experience leading and motivating a team towards a common goal.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator.
  • Passionate about climbing walls and activities that promote physical well being. 
  • Driven and passionate in the field of marketing. 
  • An outlook that matches our vision and mission statement. 

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a similar size business at this level
  • Ideally educated to degree level in Marketing and/or Media-based discipline and/or professional qualification in Marketing or Digital Marketing.
  • Demonstrate creativity when it comes to creating new ideas and promotions.
  • Technical knowledge of the practical setting up and running of Social Media adverts and campaigns.
  • Experience of SEO
  • Prior experience using WordPress, Facebook, Google Analytics, and Google Drive.
