Head of Route Setting at Mile End Climbing Wall Jobs

An unparalleled opportunity has arisen to lead the Route Setting team at the legendary Mile End Climbing Wall. Our reputation for high quality setting goes before us, and we are seeking the right candidate to take the reigns and responsibility to not only continue this, but to firmly embed route setting in our mission to make climbing accessible to all.

We are seeking a talented individual with extensive experience in route setting and a portfolio demonstrating creativity and technical proficiency to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the experience of our diverse community of climbers. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for developing routes that are creative and challenging for climbers of all levels.

This is a dynamic role where commitment, adaptability, communication, and an inclusive mindset are essential. You will be responsible for leading and developing our team of route setters whilst collaborating with other departments to support MECW’s goals and overall vision.

This is a senior level position covering all aspects of the role, including a minimum of 3 days/week setting, on both ropes and bouldering, as well as developing a dynamic team of setters at all levels of experience.
