Mountaineering Ireland is actively engaged with Newry, Mourne & Down District Council in relation to securing access for climbing at Moorhill Quarry. In the meantime climbing at Moorhill Quarry is not allowed. There is a new lock on the gate installed by the council on 18/11/2022. Please do not use the quarry to ensure that the talks between MI and the Council runs smoothly.

βeta: Very challenging route, top rope soloed this route. To avoid a huge swing if one was to take a fall,I down climbed placing gear down as I went along, an clipping my ropes above while on abseil. Then removed gear as I climbed, used a mix of hand moves and feet up the small crack. Id definitely need to practice this route a little before I would lead it. | βeta?

βeta: Class route, will be back to do it when the footholds aren't breaking off as I'm standing on them and its a bit less greasy. | βeta?
