2023 26th February update: The Ravens do not appear to be using the existing nest in Gardoms Unconquerable - however one more check will be made in case they are late starting, so please be observant and report any sightings if you are in the area.
In recent years a Tawny Owl has nested in the Layback Crack/Flake Crack.area - it is not known if they are present in 2023 but please keep your eyes and ears out if climbing in this area.

Match on the crimp and gain the lip. Climb up the nose with a tough flick out left. Using the right arete for feet drops it to f7C. © Rockfax

βeta: From speaking with Ned recently when he did this he didn't use the right arete at all for hands or feet. The ukc description above and Ash's vid both have the arete in for feet only (toe hooks for the flick and top moves). I did it a very similar way to Ash and it's really fun but I guess a slightly strange rule to allow arete for feet but not hands. It's prob 7C this way, and obv not the way it was originally done. I know it has been repeated with out the arete at all... sorry lots of info for a eliminate (but fun) set of moves. | βeta? | |
