Rockfax Description
235m. The easiest way up the full height of the buttress traverses from left to right high up the central slabs and, although a little vegetated, it climbs through some fantastic ground for the grade.
1. 30m Climb the centre of the smooth slab to a small ledge. Step right to a wall, then take a small slanting corner and traverse left to a stance. Finish up a small black crack to a flake belay.
2. 25m Continue straight up to a large block below a groove. Climb the groove, then traverse right round an arête to a shattered ledge.
3. 25m Move up to easier ground and a belay below the a chimney.
4. 15m The chimney for 10m, then traverse the slab on the right to reach a small stance.
5. 25m Move right to a large flake beneath the great overhangs.
6. 10m Traverse the flake (6m), then climb a rock rib to a thread belay on a platform.
7. 40m Follow the line of weakness rightwards to gain a platform on the edge of the buttress.
8. 30m Scramble up the edge.
9. 35m Enter a groove, and follow this mainly on the right wall to the buttress crest.

βeta: Very unpleasant first pitch, loose, green, 4b-4c and with little gear worth mentioning. Couple very dangerous loose blocks on the first to second pitch. We bailed from just after the first pitch with someone else’s prior bailing equipment. Don’t recommend, especially to a severe leader.
