500m.

Rockfax Description
500m. A superb mountaineering expedition with the major difficulties near the top. Start round to the left of the lowest rocks, where scrambling leads to a broad ledge which can be followed rightwards to the ridge at the First Platform. Now follow the narrow ridge to a steepening and turn this by a shallow gully slanting up left. Trend right by short chimneys and walls to gain the Second Platform, a sloping shelf on the crest of the ridge. Above, the ridge is narrower and well defined, and presents no real obstacle until a smooth overhanging wall which is turned on the right by a corner with large steps. A short distance higher is the infamous Mantrap, the most difficult pitch on the route. Beyond the Mantrap is the 40ft Corner, which leads to easier ground and the summit plateau.

βeta: There’s a large hold which has fractured and is ready to break loose, approx 20-30m down from the Man Trap. The broken hold is on the left as you naturally work up a corner on the ridge. It wasn’t safe to clear and too large to lift out of situ. Other than that normal loose you would expect on a mountaineering route and cracking day out.
