The Beeston Bump or Beeston Hill is the highest point on the Peddars Way and North Norfolk Coast National Trailat 63m above sea level. During World War 2 Beeston Bump was used as a location for the Signals Intelligence Collection Sites - Y-Stations. The remains of the station can still be seen on the Summit.Legend has it that the famous hound that roams Norfolk - The Black Shuck appears from the depths of The Beeston Bump. Anyone said to have seen the Shuck is to die within a year. The legend is supposed to have inspired the Sherlock Holmes story - The Hounds of the Baskervilles.
