Rockfax Description
VDiff. The left-hand arete of the wall which has many variations. Start in the gully behind the left-hand side of the crag. Climb the steep wall rightwards to get onto the ridge and follow this easily to a large step. Climb the ridge on the left to the summit in two or three long pitches. © Rockfax

βeta: As others have noted, this has some very suspect rock. At the first bulge after the start I pulled on tv sized block that moved. do be careful. most of the scary stuff can be avoided. There is also no obvious trail to the base. I left some cairns, marking a point just around the corner from the main cliff on the main trail below after the concrete road; snake up some slabs to the obvious gully. A new staple marks the start. From the top of the route there's also not much of a walk off trail. I scrambled until I dropped right onto a goat trail then lead to the summit cairn in 20mins. From here stay right and scramble down until u see a large cairn that marks a poor, slippery scree path down to the forest glade (dead, fallen tree). pick up the main trail here (pinkish paint marks), that leads up to the col (5mins), and cleverly down awkward ground to a broader trail going left, that eventually meets up with the main trail back to the base of the route.

βeta: This route carries the loose rock symbol and they ain't kidding. The start is a loose pile of choss. However as you climb thing steadily improve and when you finally reach the top you are rewarded with a fantastic view. So in summary a mountain in the process of falling down but a surprisingly enjoyable outing all the same.
