Sputain Crag © Jamie Skelton
A small protruding buttress of very compact rock with ample natural belays. The rock is different to elsewhere on the Islands, similar to Creag Ard or Nunnary crag in that it's very solid but it's lighter in colour and a touch sharper. The routes sit on a partly tidal ledge but those on the left side can be accessed at anytime in calm sea states.
Head up the initial steep section of Finley's road. Just before the first houses there is a left hand bend in the track and a gate on the right. Head through the gate and across the fields heading to the coast, the crag protrudes out towards the sea and should be easy to spot. 15 - 20 mins from the Sanday bridge.
