The first sector of Rocher des Aravis that you get to. Has some nice easy routes. © bigbobbyking
The smaller neigbour of Paroi de Borderan, but contrasting with that cliff the routes here are fully bolted. A wide range of grades to suit most people. Many of the routes have second and third pitches so a longer rope can help, although a 60m is fine for the single pitches.
There's a via ferrata on Paroi de Borderan not far away which might provide some entertainment if climbing gets too much for you.
Reached by a 10 minute walk from a small parking place on the North side of the road. This is identifiable by the large sign in the layby which gives details of the nearby via ferrata.
Bureau de Guides said go to the Tourist office for the guide, they let you photograph their only copy. But the Libraire shop next to the Carrefour Express in Thones has both Aravis tomes. Nick_Scots - 11/Jul/23 |

Location pin should be in line with the roads hairpin and via Ferrata car park.
The sign says 30mins to the crag, more like 10mins. Nick_Scots - 11/Jul/23 |
